Job summary

Apex is seeking an experienced Senior Director of Capture to build, lead, and scale our capture organization. This player-coach role bridges business development and technical teams to convert opportunities into wins, reporting to the VP of Sales and Business Development.

You will lead Capture Managers, mature our companywide capture process and gate reviews, develop win strategies, and guide proposals from identification to award, with a focus on high-value, strategic bids.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years in capture management, proposal development, or business development, preferably in satellite manufacturing.
• Experience building and leading capture/proposal teams and owning large pursuits.
• Ability to mature companywide capture processes and collaborate with multiple stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Build, lead, and manage a team of Capture Managers with coaching and development.
• Own and mature the companywide capture process, standards, tooling, and gate reviews.
• Lead major captures from identification through proposal submission and award.
• Develop win strategies aligning customer needs with company capabilities.
• Coordinate with BD, systems, and spacecraft engineers to define architectures and proposals.
• Guide creation of technical content for proposals and ensure compliance with RFP/BAA.
• Represent the company in customer meetings and improve win probability.
• Identify risks and implement mitigation to improve feasibility and competitiveness.
• Maintain a library of past proposals and lessons learned; mentor teams on best practices.
