Job summary

University of North Carolina Wilmington is seeking a Capital Project Manager to oversee capital projects from advanced planning through design, construction, and closeout. This role is located at the Main UNCW Campus and requires strong project management and engineering knowledge.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s in engineering, experience with AutoCAD and MS Project, and the ability to manage budgets, schedules, and stakeholder communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent combination of training and experience.
• Effective oral and written communication skills are essential.
• Qualification for professional licensing/registration is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Establish and manage project budget and schedule.
• Oversee designer and CMR selection and manage bid process.
• Review design and bid documents for constructability and maintainability.
• Prepare project status reports for University administration and attend status meetings.
• Act as liaison between University stakeholders and design/construction team.
• Estimating costs, monitoring construction projects, and guiding team execution.
• Communicate clearly and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
