Job summary

Beaufort County is seeking an experienced Engineering Project Manager to oversee the planning, design, construction, occupancy and warranty phases of complex capital and renovation projects. The role requires coordinating with multiple departments, consultants, and contractors to ensure project success.

Responsibilities include preparing bid packages, reviewing bids, managing budgets and contracts, and ensuring compliance with specifications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a hard science is required.
• Over four to eight years of related experience or equivalent.
• Engineer in Training and PMP certifications are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manages capital improvements and engineering projects; prepares bid packages and contracts.
• Reviews bids, selects design consultants, prepares budgets and attends council meetings.
• Liaises with departments, developers, and public; monitors contracts and change orders.
• Ensures field inspections and project completion aligned with plans and specs.
