Job summary

Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) seeks a Senior Manager, Capital Strategy to coordinate planning activities across the Planning Department and ensure alignment with agency goals. The role focuses on portfolio management, program formation, and cross-division collaboration with NYC Transit, Long Island Railroad, and Metro-North Railroad.

The Senior Manager will shape the MTA’s capital plans, engage local, regional, and national stakeholders on policy matters, and develop communications

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in urban planning, engineering, public administration, or related field.
• Master’s Degree preferred.
• Must have a minimum of eight (8) years of relevant experience, preferably in transportation.
• Must have at least four (4) years in the management of large projects, or a supervisory role in a multi-faceted organization.
• Master's degree preferred.
• AICP or PE is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate across the Planning Department to align with D&C goals and priorities.
• Manage portfolio of capital planning initiatives and cross-division projects.
• Engage with internal and external stakeholders to communicate plans and results.
• Support development of long-range planning and capital plan processes.
• Lead staff engagement and provide timely feedback to improve deliverables.
