Job summary

Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) NYC Transit is seeking a Senior Director Strategic Planning, Operations Planning to lead strategy, budget, and administrative functions for the Operations Planning Department. You will direct a ~500-employee team and coordinate across multiple NYCT divisions to ensure efficient project delivery.

The role requires oversight of operating and capital budgets, HR and procurement functions, and internal controls, with heavy collaboration across departments.

Qualifications

• Masters degree or equivalent in a relevant field.
• Extensive leadership, budgeting, and financial management experience.
• Experience directing large teams and complex budgets.

Responsibilities

• Direct the development and management of the Operating and Capital budgets.
• Serve as expert consultant on financial and budget issues with exec management.
• Oversee labor, materials, procurement, and HR across the dept.
• Coordinate with HR and leaders to align talent strategies with goals.
• Lead contracts, procurement processes, and OTPS budgets oversight.
• Act as Property Control Officer and manage equipment/inventory.
• Serve as internal control manager ensuring policy adherence.
• Foster leadership development and employee engagement initiatives.
