Job summary

UCSF Health is seeking an Associate Chair for Administration and Finance and Chief Administrative Officer for the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences and Langley Porter Psychiatric Institute. This senior role leads administrative operations for hundreds of staff and faculty, aligning financial strategy with teaching, research, and clinical missions in a top-tier university system.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related area with ten+ years of supervisory/management experience.
• Advanced knowledge of financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting and internal controls.
• Experience leading large academic departments or centers.
• Strong leadership, collaboration and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic administrative leadership for the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences and LPPI.
• Oversee financial and HR operations, resources, and policy interpretation.
• Guide performance metrics, staff development and compliance with policies and regulations.
• Engage in campus and school committees and interdepartmental partnerships.
