Job summary

Volvo Group Purchasing is shaping the North American segment by owning the sourcing plan, leading supplier qualification, and negotiating contracts to meet QDCF-TSR targets. You will drive risk mitigation with cross-functional teams and scout new suppliers while following Volvo processes and the Code of Conduct.

You will be based in Greensboro, NC, reporting to the Manager of Cab Interior in Purchasing North America, collaborating with engineering, supplier quality, logistics, and program teams

Qualifications

• 3+ years of strategic purchasing experience including contracts, supplier negotiations, and supplier sourcing.
• Strong project management experience, including critical path timeline creation and execution.
• Experience in high-volume manufacturing environments.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proven negotiation and analytical skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering/Technology, Business Administration, or equivalent work experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead supplier qualification activities and contract negotiations.
• Own the sourcing plan for the assigned segment.
• Manage daily project purchasing activities including prototypes and initial production orders.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to mitigate risks and meet APQP deliverables.
• Scout for new supply partners and ensure readiness across development to industrialization.
