Volvo Cars in the United States seeks a Senior Buyer to develop and execute sourcing strategies for direct materials supporting vehicle programs and ongoing production in US manufacturing and regional operations.

You will own supplier relationships, drive cost reductions, localization, and continuous improvement while collaborating with global stakeholders across Purchasing, Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Finance, Logistics, and Program Management.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Master’s degree or equivalent advanced business or technical education is preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office with strong emphasis on Excel.
• In-depth knowledge of the automotive industry, including suppliers and direct material sourcing.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in procurement or automotive sourcing.
• Experience managing direct material commodities and supplier negotiations.

Aufgaben

• Develop and execute commodity and supplier strategies aligned with business objectives and vehicle programs.
• Lead end-to-end sourcing for complex direct material commodities, including market analysis, RFQs, supplier selection, and negotiations.
• Deliver cost competitiveness and localization through productivity improvements and supplier performance management.
• Integrate cost engineering and should-cost analysis into sourcing decisions.
• Own strategic supplier relationships and act as primary commercial interface for negotiations and escalations.
• Protect supply continuity by assessing supplier risks and leading contingency plans.
• Ensure readiness for launches and engineering changes through cross-functional governance.
• Provide senior procurement leadership and mentor Buyers.
