Job summary

Plansee USA LLC, located in Franklin, USA, is seeking a Buyer to lead strategic procurement for materials, tooling, and services to support production. You will manage supplier relationships, negotiate terms, and drive cost, quality, and delivery improvements within an ERP/MRP environment.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in a related field, strong negotiation and analytical skills, and experience in manufacturing procurement. SAP R/3 and APICS CPIM are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field with procurement experience.
• Experience in procurement processes, supplier management, risk management, and sourcing strategies.
• Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communicator with ability to influence internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
• Proficiency in MS Office and ERP/MRP systems (SAP R/3 preferred).
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.
• APICS/CPIM certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead procurement activities for assigned commodities, aligning supply with production requirements and supplier lead times.
• Identify, evaluate, and develop suppliers, including dual/second sourcing strategies to mitigate risk and improve supply continuity.
• Manage end-to-end purchase order lifecycle, including placement, confirmation, tracking, and expediting for on‑time delivery.
• Serve as a key contact for the supply base, building supplier relationships and driving cost, quality, and delivery improvements.
• Partner with Planning, Engineering, Quality, and Accounting to ensure material availability and resolve supply issues.
• Analyze PPV and support annual standard cost updates.
• Negotiate pricing, terms, and long‑term agreements with suppliers.
• Maintain purchasing data and ERP/MRP system integrity.
• Participate in supplier audits and continuous improvement initiatives.
