Job summary

NPAworldwide in Spartanburg, SC is seeking a Buyer to join our Purchasing team. The role focuses on supplier sourcing, selection, negotiations, and ensuring materials meet quality, cost, and delivery requirements.

The ideal candidate has manufacturing purchasing experience, preferably with metal stamping or tool & die operations, and is adept at driving cost improvements and supplier performance using Lean methods and data‑driven analysis.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in supply chain, business, engineering, or related field.
• Purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with metal stamping, assembly, or tool & die.
• Knowledge of Lean manufacturing and CI methodologies.
• Knowledge of IATF 16949 requirements.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong supplier negotiation and relationship management.
• CPSM certification preferred.
• Lean Practitioner experience or certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage sourcing and procurement for production materials and services.
• Lead supplier selection; evaluate based on cost, quality, capacity, delivery.
• Analyze quotations; negotiate pricing, terms, lead times.
• Identify and evaluate potential new suppliers.
• Track supplier performance with scorecards and KPIs.
• Lead supplier improvement initiatives using Lean tools.
• Partner with Engineering to set supplier criteria and verify capabilities.
• Support investigations into supplier quality or delivery issues.
• Maintain pricing, lead times, MOQs, and terms in Material Master.
• Review weekly part-shortage reports.
• Support annual material cost reviews.
• Contribute to end-to-end supply chain improvements; reduce waste.
• Build strong relationships with suppliers and internal teams.
