Job summary

The Baker Company in Sanford, ME is hiring a Buyer/Planner to purchase materials, maintain Epicor data, and support production planning for manufacturing operations. You will prepare and expedite purchase orders, manage suppliers, and help establish production schedules to meet deadlines.

Minimum requirements include an associate degree or technical/business training and at least 2 years in purchasing or production planning.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or relevant technical/business education required. Bachelor’s degree a plus.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in purchasing, production planning, manufacturing, or a related field preferred.
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems required; Epicor knowledge a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare purchase orders to support production requirements.
• Manage suppliers using price, quality, delivery, and service factors; coordinate expedites as needed.
• Maintain supplier, part, lead-time, pricing, and other purchasing information in Epicor.
• Create, monitor, and close production work orders to support operations.
• Prepare production schedules to assign production timing for incoming work.
• Interface with operations daily for schedule-related issues.
