Job summary

Pyrotek in Tulsa, OK is seeking a Buyer/Planner to manage end-to-end material flow from raw materials to finished goods. You will leverage MRP to guarantee material availability while aligning production planning and scheduling with plant capacity and customer deadlines.

Key responsibilities include supplier evaluation, PO management, inventory optimization, and collaboration with Sales, Manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure on-time delivery and cost efficiency.

Qualifications

• Associates degree plus 3+ years in production control, planning, or purchasing.
• MRP experience required.
• APICS/CPIM certification a plus.

Responsibilities

• Solicit bid proposals, review requisitions, prepare purchase orders, and maintain purchasing records with import compliance.
• Evaluate suppliers on price, quality, capability, and specs to drive cost improvements.
• Collaborate with suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure timely material flow and expedite orders when needed.
• Process MRP reports to plan, schedule, and release work orders aligning capacity and lead times.
• Monitor stocking levels and safety stock to optimize turnover and accuracy.
• Analyze production status and capacity to identify bottlenecks and align with due dates.
• Communicate material shortages or delays to Sales and Customer Service.
• Participate in S&OP calls and drive continuous improvement for on-time delivery.
