Job summary

Link-Belt Cranes is seeking a Buyer on 1st shift to evaluate material requirements and place purchase orders with approved suppliers. You will ensure timely delivery to support manufacturing and maintain procurement records.

Essential functions include generating POs from MRP, balancing orders with inventory, monitoring open POs, and coordinating with receiving and suppliers. At least two years in scheduling or purchasing is expected.

Qualifications

• High School or GED. College degree preferred.
• Minimum of two years related experience in scheduling and/or purchasing.

Responsibilities

• Generate purchase orders from material requirements planning (MRP) or other demand.
• Balance purchase orders with inventory conditions and demand requirements at all times to minimize inventory investment.
• Monitor open purchase orders to meet changing schedule requirements (cancel, defer, expedite, etc).
• Work with receiving department to resolve quantity, purchase order, or part number discrepancies.
• Work with others to gather requested data, e.g. certifications, tracking information, etc. as required
• Communicate with suppliers to obtain product or service information, such as price, availability, and delivery
• Maintain procurement records, such as item or service purchased, costs, delivery, product quality or performance, and inventories
• May expedite delivery of goods to users
• Other duties and projects as assigned

Education
