Job summary

ITT Engineered Valves in Lancaster, PA is seeking a Buyer to manage day-to-day procurement of goods and services to meet production forecasts with cost efficiency and quality. The ideal candidate holds a bachelor’s degree and at least two years in manufacturing purchasing.

Responsibilities include supplier communications, PO preparation, vendor performance programs, and inventory analysis. APICS is a plus; SAP/ERP experience highly valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in business, supply chain management, or similar field is required.
• 2+ years of purchasing/procurement experience is required.
• APICS certification is desirable; additional coursework in materials management is a plus.
• Self-starter with excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Highly proficient in MRP/ERP systems (SAP preferred) and MS Office; database experience is a plus.
• Ability to analyze production reports and allocate/purchase materials as production demands.

Responsibilities

• Review forecast and analyze MRP/ERP reports to purchase/allocate items and services.
• Communicate with vendors on contracts, price, availability, and sourcing of new items.
• Collaborate with vendors to improve performance and reliability.
• Prepare purchase orders and notify requisitioners of changes or price differences.
• Maintain vendor records and ensure proper documentation reflecting costs and lead times.
• Review inventories and recommend remedial actions for non-usable or excess stock.
• Back up other buyers as assigned; perform other duties as needed.
