Job summary

AST Bearings LLC is seeking a Buyer Planner for our Purchasing Department in New Bedford, MA. You will analyze inventory, forecasts and production data to plan schedules and work with MRP/SCM systems.

The role involves RFQs, supplier negotiations, and coordinating import/export documents. Strong Excel skills and 3+ years of related experience are preferred, with a comprehensive benefits package offered.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or equivalent; 3+ years experience preferred.
• Intermediate Excel skills and proficient MS Office.
• Experience with import, HTS codes, and logistics.
• Ability to work with suppliers and cross-functional teams.
• Strong analytical, forecasting, and scheduling abilities.

Responsibilities

• Analyze inventory, usage, forecasts and production data to schedule activities.
• Submit RFQs and negotiate with suppliers on pricing and delivery.
• Coordinate with freight forwarders for import/export documentation.
• Enter and monitor purchase orders and expedite with suppliers.
• Assist Sales with landed costs and provide freight/shipping costs as needed.
• Support SKU rationalization and demand planning improvements.
• Maintain department files and communicate changes to Sales.
