Job summary

Aston Carter is seeking a Buyer to plan replenishment and purchase materials to support production schedules in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You will collaborate with planners, production teams, and suppliers to ensure on-time execution and reliable supply.

Responsibilities include RFQs, supplier evaluations, PO execution in ERP (Microsoft Dynamics BC), cost analysis, and inventory management. This onsite St. George, UT role offers a contract-to-hire path and competitive pay.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of related experience in purchasing or buyer roles, ideally in electronics or contract manufacturing.
• Proficient in ERP/MRP processes and supplier management.
• Strong cost analysis and negotiation skills.
• Proficient in Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables) and data analysis.

Responsibilities

• Plan and manage replenishment by purchasing materials to support production schedules.
• Collaborate with planners and production teams to ensure on-time execution of plans.
• Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on availability, quality, pricing, and service.
• Develop bidder lists and issue RFQs/ RFPs.
• Evaluate supplier performance and conduct audits for compliance.
• Coordinate with suppliers to schedule deliveries and manage vendor performance.
• Track and expedite deliveries to prevent shortages.
• Maintain strong supplier relationships for reliable supply.
• Execute purchase orders and manage MRP within ERP.
• Perform cost and price analysis and negotiate contracts.
• Reconcile quotes and invoices, maintain purchasing records.
• Manage backorders, returns, and non-conforming items.
• Monitor inventory levels with planners/production to avoid stockouts.
• Drive cost-reduction initiatives while maintaining quality.
• Maintain part setup data in ERP and related systems.
• Assist with additional duties to support objectives.
• Promote policies and uphold attendance and conduct standards.
• Ensure clear cross-department communication and teamwork.
• Support cross-training and knowledge sharing.
• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
• Ensure equipment and work areas are well-maintained and organized.
