Job summary

AST Bearings LLC in New Bedford, MA is seeking a Buyer Planner for our Purchasing Department. You will analyze inventory and forecasts, manage RFQs, and negotiate with suppliers to optimize pricing and delivery.

You will coordinate import/export documents and assign HTS codes, supporting Sales with landed costs and freight details. The role requires strong Excel and ERP/SCM system aptitude, excellent organization, and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced Fortune 200 environment with global

Qualifications

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for internal and external stakeholders.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and intermediate Excel capabilities.
• Ability to learn and use MRP/SCM software with ease.
• Strong reporting, analytical skills, and attention to detail.
• Able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Analyze inventory, usage, forecasts and production data to determine scheduling.
• Submit RFQs to suppliers and follow up; negotiate pricing and delivery terms.
• Coordinate with freight forwarders for import/export documents and shipments.
• Analyze product and assign HTS codes; maintain duty/tariff information.
• Assist Sales with landed costs and provide freight/air shipping costs when needed.
• Enter and monitor purchase orders, expedite with suppliers, and liaise with warehouse teams.
