Job summary

TEKsystems in Cary, NC is seeking an experienced Buyer Planner to join our supply chain team on a contract-to-hire basis. You will manage material demand planning, inventory lifecycles, forecasting, and supplier collaboration to optimize supply chain performance.

The role requires strong ERP experience, including Oracle, and a track record of cross-functional partnership. Hybrid work in Cary with competitive hourly compensation.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in material demand planning, inventory management, or supply chain planning.
• Experience forecasting and analyzing excess/obsolete material.
• Experience with Oracle or another ERP platform.
• Customer service focus with stakeholder support and issue resolution.
• Ability to collaborate across multiple teams and functions.
• Strong analytical and reporting skills.
• Experience supporting lifecycle strategies including product introductions and obsolescence planning.

Responsibilities

• Manage inventory across the business unit with projections, reconciliation, and returns.
• Develop and maintain accurate demand forecasts and execution plans.
• Analyze inventory exposure and report forecast accuracy and liability.
• Lead product introductions, transitions, and end-of-life planning.
• Develop spare parts management and supplier inventory strategies.
• Collaborate with suppliers, sourcing, field ops, and accounting on forecasting.
• Resolve discrepancies between forecasted and actual demand.
• Support supplier management and preferred supplier utilization.
• Perform excess/obsolete inventory analysis and present recommendations.
• Improve forecast-to-order processes and implement controls.
• Apply long-term lifecycle management for multi-year material planning.
