Job summary

Buck Knives, Inc. in Post Falls, Idaho seeks an IT Business Systems Lead who aligns technology with business goals.

You will own business systems architecture (ERP, data, reporting), manage a small team, and coordinate with Finance, Operations, Sales and Marketing to prioritize improvements. During ERP readiness, you will document processes, align data structures, identify gaps, and work with external partners.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a 4-year degree in related IT field or equivalent work experience.
• 10–15+ years of experience in business systems, ERP, or application-focused IT roles.
• Strong understanding of ERP systems (implementation experience preferred).
• Directly managed at least one employee, including performance reviews.
• Ability to lead cross-functional work through influence, not just formal authority.
• Experience managing a project backlog or portfolio of competing priorities.
• Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Experience working cross-functionally with Finance and Operations teams.
• Strong project management and organizational skills.
• Lean environment experience with limited direct reports.
• Experience managing third-party vendors or service providers preferred.

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary owner of Buck’s business systems architecture, including ERP, data, reporting, and supporting applications.
• Manage and lead day-to-day business application support within the IT function—scaled by MSP.
• Directly manage the business systems support team member(s), including setting priorities and performance reviews.
• Translate business needs into system solutions to improve efficiency and decision-making.
• Partner with Finance, Operations, Sales, and Marketing to prioritize system improvements.
• Support ERP readiness efforts: process documentation, data structure alignment, and gap identification.
• Serve as internal IT project lead for ERP implementation with external partners and internal stakeholders.
• Provide day-to-day management for the business-application-support side of IT; balance hands-on work with oversight.
• Manage one or more direct reports and coordinate additional internal or contract resources.
• Oversee development and maintenance of reporting and data structures; ensure data integrity.
• Own intake, prioritization, and execution of all systems-related work; manage project backlog.
• Coordinate with MSP; ensure performance aligns with service expectations.
• Identify opportunities to streamline workflows and reduce manual processes through system improvements.
