Job summary

NewSchools Venture Fund is seeking a Manager, Budget and Reporting to lead organization-wide budgeting, financial reporting, and investment due diligence from a remote U.S. location. Travel up to 10% for meetings and trainings.

Reporting to the Director of Finance, you will partner with investment and development teams and senior leadership to translate strategy into multi-year financial plans and to streamline budgeting and reporting processes for stronger governance.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in FP&A, budgeting, or financial mgmt.
• Strong Excel/Google Sheets and financial systems skills.
• Experience using data visualization to tell financial stories.
• Experience performing due diligence on grants/investments/loans.
• Nonprofit GAAP familiarity (501(c)(3) preferred).

Responsibilities

• Lead organization-wide budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
• Provide cash flow forecasts and scenario analyses for decisions.
• Prepare monthly/quarterly budget vs actual analyses.
• Advise budget owners and inform resourcing decisions.
• Support Development with financial reporting and funding proposals.
• Improve budgeting/reporting through automation and tools.
• Oversee investment due diligence and procurement processes.
