Job summary

NewSchools Venture Fund is hiring an Analyst to lead data stewardship, analytics, and reporting for grantmaking across investment teams. The role focuses on reliable data, insightful metrics, and data-driven decisions in a fully remote US organization.

You will own end-to-end data processes, partner with teams, and translate learning agendas into actionable insights while enabling self-service analytics across the organization.

Qualifications

• 2+ years with complex data sets and end-to-end data processes
• Proficiency in SQL; cloud data warehouse experience (BigQuery preferred)
• Experience with BI/analytics tools and building self-service artifacts
• Experience with data validation and quality control
• Project management experience coordinating multiple stakeholders
• Comfort using AI-assisted analytics tools for ad hoc analysis
• Knowledge of K-12 education data or charter/district data preferred

Responsibilities

• Own analytics for designated investment team and translate learning agendas into metric definitions
• Develop data collection and quality processes for cohesive quantitative and qualitative data
• Elevate metrics in support of broader research strategy
• Identify data gaps and recommend warehouse or tooling improvements
• Maintain knowledge of data stack to advise teams and inform infrastructure decisions
• Manage data intake for investments including validation processes and rostering
• Lead analytics and rapid prototyping to answer business questions
• Collaborate on custom queries and datasets for learning agenda and reporting
• Build visualizations and planning tools to drive insight across portfolios
• Serve as data resource for non-technical colleagues and promote self-service analytics
