Job summary

City of Irving is seeking a detail-oriented professional to support the Information Technology Department with budget, procurement, and administrative duties. You will prepare bid specs, assist with budget administration, and manage invoices and payments.

Responsibilities also include analyzing expenditures, maintaining budget databases, supporting the CTO, payroll processing, and preparing Council agenda items. The role requires an associate degree and two years of related experience.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree or equivalent with at least two years of related experience.
  • Advanced computer proficiency, including databases and spreadsheets (MS Excel preferred) and strong financial analysis skills.
  • Experience with budget preparation and administration is required.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare bid specifications and proposals.
  • Assist with budget preparation and administration.
  • Prepare trending and cost analyses of expenditures.
  • Process and reconcile payments, disbursements and invoices.
  • Handle procurement and contract management activities.
  • Answer inquiries from staff, vendors and city departments.
  • Maintain budget files and databases.
  • Provide light admin support to the CTO.
  • Prepare personnel paperwork, reports, presentations, and Council agenda items.
  • Process payroll and open records requests.
  • Answer the telephone and perform general clerical tasks.
