Bowdoin College is seeking a Budget and Financial Analyst to join the Treasurers Office. The analyst will lead budgeting, forecasting, and reporting activities, partnering with the Vice President for Finance and Administration and Assistant Treasurer to support long‑term financial health and strategic goals.

The role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate financial information clearly.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in college or large nonprofit budgeting environment, or 3+ years in public accounting.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Experience translating data into actionable insights and clear reports.
• Ability to collaborate with budget managers and leadership.
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.

Responsabilités

• Participates in budget process including draft presentations for senior staff.
• Partner with Controller’s Office to reconcile budget data between Workday modules.
• Perform budget-to-actual variance analysis and scenario analyses.
• Serve as campus resource for spending questions on operating, gift, and endowment funds.
• Review and approve budget changes and journal entries with leadership input.
