Job Summary:

The Budget and Financial Analyst is an integral part of theCollege's financial planning and budgeting team, working closelywith the Vice President for Finance and Administration andAssistant Treasurer to support the institution's long-termfinancial health and strategic goals. The position leads keybudgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and reportingactivities, using Workday Financial Management and Workday AdaptivePlanning to help inform decision-making. Serving as a valuedpartner to budget managers and departments, this individualprovides guidance on budgeting, expenditures, and the effective useof operating, gift, and endowment funds. The role also assists withthe annual budget process, and helps improve budget planning toolsand processes. Essential Functions

• Participates in all aspects of the budget process includingdraft budget presentations for senior officer discussions,preliminary Board budget presentations, drafting sections of theannual operating budget and other associated activities.
• Partner with the Controller's Office to ensure the accurateintegration and reconciliation of budget data between Workday Financial Management and Workday Adaptive Planning.
• Planning for budget to actual variance analysis, year-to-yearbudget changes, budget forecasting, scenario analysis, and other adhoc analyses as needed.
• Campus resource for majority of spending questions by campuscommunity members, including the appropriate spending of operatingbudgets, gift funds, endowment funds, and all other types ofspending.
• Reviewing and approving (with input of VP Finance andAdministration and Assistant Treasurer as appropriate) all budgetchange requests and journal entries.

The hiring range for this position is expected to be: $95,000 -$105,000 annually.

Education / Skills Requirements

Required: B.S. in Accounting, Business Administration or relatedfield; MBA, Workday Adaptive Planning Certification and/or WorkdayFinancials Reporting Certification strongly preferred.

• Provide comprehensive budget and financial analysis, includingvariance reporting, forecasting, scenario modeling
• Excellent organizational skills, including the ability toprioritize work, manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and meetdeadlines.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability toproduce clear and concise reports and correspondence.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build andmaintain relationships with staff, and other stakeholders.
• Act as a trusted resource for budget managers and Collegeleadership, delivering analytical insights, financial reporting,and guidance.

Experience Requirements and/or Equivalents

A minimum of 5 years related experience in a college or largenon-profit accounting/budgeting environment or 3+ years experiencewith a public accounting firm required.

• Proficient in using computer software including MS Office Suite(Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and financial systems (Workday FinancialManagement and Workday Adaptive Planning).
• Ability to identify issues, generate solutions and make sounddecisions.
• High level of attention to detail to ensure accuracy ofrecords, correspondence, and other documents.
• Ability to work in a dynamic environment, adapting to changesand managing multiple priorities.
• Work collaboratively within a team and contribute positively tothe team's operations and working environment.

Standard Work Days and Hours

Standard administrative hours are 8:30am - 5:0peed. This is a full‑time position working 40 hours/52 weeks, (1.00 FTE). Exempt positions require the time commitment necessary to complete theessential duties of the position.

Onsite - This is an on‑site role, and candidates must be able to work in person on Bowdoin College Campus in Brunswick, Maine.
