Job summary

Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Maine, seeks a Budget and Financial Analyst to join the Treasury Office. The role leads budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and reporting, partnering with senior finance leaders to support the college’s long-term financial health and strategic goals.

Proficiency with Workday Financial Management and Workday Adaptive Planning is preferred. The analyst will provide variance analysis, budget-to-actual reviews, and guidance on operating, gift, and endowment

Qualifications

• Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
• Ability to produce clear and concise financial reporting and correspondence.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with stakeholders.
• Experience with budget management across operating, gift, and endowment funds is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Participates in all aspects of the budget process, including drafting sections of the operating budget.
• Partner with Controller’s Office to reconcile budget data between Workday modules.
• Conducts budget-to-actual variance analysis, forecasting, and scenario analysis.
• Serves as campus resource for spending questions on operating, gift, endowment funds.
• Reviews budget changes and journal entries with VP Finance and Assistant Treasurer.
