Job summary

Lamar University is seeking a Budget Analyst to perform financial analysis and reporting for LU, Sul Ross State University, and TSUS campuses. You will administer budget processes, build models, and present analyses to inform leadership decisions.

The role requires strong analytical skills, experience with ERP systems, and the ability to partner with diverse stakeholders to ensure compliance and effective resource allocation across campuses.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, General Business, or related fields.
• Experience in accounting, auditing, finance or budget preparation and analysis.
• Performance measurement reporting work.
• Master’s degree may substitute for experience.

Responsibilities

• Reviews and processes budgetary transactions for submission to the operating ledger.
• Develops, prepares, and analyzes operating budgets and expenditure projections.
• Collects, analyzes, and reports financial data to identify budget issues and opportunities.
• Advises University constituents on budgetary matters and training needs.
• Maintains financial data and develops graphs, forecasts, and reports.
• Prepares legislative and other required budget reports.
