The Lyndon B Johnson School of Public Affairs at The University of Texas at Austin seeks a Finance Analyst to provide financial, budgetary, and operational support to faculty, staff, and leadership. The role focuses on financial analysis, budgeting, and center administration to sustain the school’s educational and research mission.

You will develop budgets, forecasts, and financial reports, collaborating with a wide range of stakeholders.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
Five years of experience in financial analysis, budgeting, accounting, financial operations, or a related field.
Demonstrated experience developing budgets, forecasts, financial reports, and analytical data summaries.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including financial modeling, analysis, and reporting.
Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and communication abilities.

Responsibilities

Center Support and Financial Administration: support financial planning, forecasting, budgeting, and resource allocation; monitor budgets and expenditures; oversee funding for personnel and programs; primary financial contact for centers and university partners; manage grants, contracts, gifts, and other funding sources.
Financial Planning, Budgeting, and Analysis: assist with operating budget development, monitoring, and reporting; advise on policies and planning; collaborate on modeling, variance analysis, and special projects.
Business and Administrative Support: process financial transactions; improve internal controls; support special projects as assigned.
