Qualifications

• PhD in Biomedical Sciences or related field required.
• 8–10 years of related work experience.
• 4–6 years of Business Development experience with a track record in licensing and sponsored research agreements.
• Strong relationship-building skills with academic and industry scientists and life sciences executives.
• Well-connected with biopharma industry scientists, managers and BD scouting professionals.
• Postdoctoral experience or prior industry experience strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of oncology, metabolic and cardiovascular diseases, neurology, inflammation, infectious diseases, and modalities like RNA therapeutics, omics, vaccines, mAbs and small molecules.
• Strong writing skills and ability to draft/refine PowerPoint slides with graphics.

Responsibilities

• Lead external outreach to biopharma partners to secure research alliances.
• Coordinate with Executive Director of TVO to identify strategic contacts for high-level outreach.
• Support Harvard Faculty PIs with market intelligence and refine development strategies.
• Represent the office at translational science events and lead panels when appropriate.
• Maintain and expand the office's relational database of investigators and industry targets.
• Oversee industry-sponsored mini-symposia and Hub Showcases and report on pipeline activity.
• Negotiate CDAs and coordinate sponsored research agreement negotiations.
