Job summary

Friedman Williams, a prominent AM Law 200 firm, seeks a Business Development Manager to join the Marketing Department in New Jersey. The role reports to the Chief Marketing Officer and focuses on executing marketing and BD strategies to meet practice goals.

The candidate will track progress, prepare reports on clients and market trends, coordinate RFP responses, and collaborate with attorneys to drive service excellence across offices. Strong writing and MS Office skills are essential.

Qualifications

• College degree and at least 5 years of marketing or business development experience required.
• Strong professional writing, proofreading and editing skills.
• Candidate should possess the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Experience in a professional services setting preferred.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Powerpoint.

Responsibilities

• Execute on marketing and business development strategies to achieve stated practice goals and objectives
• Track and report on progress, conduct competitive intelligence, prepare detailed reports on clients and targets as well as market and industry trends
• Maintain experience database, coordinate and prepare RFP responses, proposals and presentations
• Continually improve pitch materials and process, ensure continuity and efficiency across offices
• Track and report on RFP/proposal results and trends
• Brainstorm and create new collateral to position the firm and practice groups
• Produce high impact submissions for key legal rankings with assistance from outside PR agency
• Work directly with attorneys to execute business development goals with a focus on providing high level of service, proactively suggest new ideas for reaching target audiences in line with practice group goals, leverage contact relationship management (CRM) system.
