Job summary

SourcePro Search, LLC in Washington, DC, is seeking a Manager – Business Development to support partners and BD teams in generating new business, strengthening client relationships, and expanding the firm’s profile in the DC market and globally.

You will lead strategic initiatives, oversee pitches and marketing efforts, conduct market research, and collaborate with Communications, Events, CI, Creative Services, and global BD teams.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of business development experience at a top-tier U.S. law firm, financial institution, or professional services firm.
• Strong understanding of the D.C. legal market and competitive landscape globally.
• Knowledge of litigation, financial services, and transactional terminology and processes.
• Bachelor’s degree required; JD, MBA or relevant graduate degree is a plus.
• Experience with business writing and presenting to executive- and partner-level audiences.
• Excellent writing, editing, analytical, research, and organizational skills with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute business development plans with senior lawyers.
• Identify new business opportunities, referral sources, prospective clients, and strategic sponsorships.
• Research companies, industries, litigation exposure, deal activity, and legal needs.
• Lead the preparation of pitches, RFP responses, and marketing materials.
• Oversee submissions for Chambers USA and other directories.
• Maintain and update practice materials, lawyer bios, CRM records, and BD activity.
• Provide updates to the Managing Partner on BD initiatives.
• Guide partners in prioritizing high-value BD opportunities.
• Supervise junior BD team members supporting D.C. initiatives.
• Coordinate with global BD teams and collaborate with Communications, Events, CI, and Creative Services.
