Job summary

Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton LLP in New York is seeking a Business Development Manager to support the US Litigation practice. You will create pitches and RFP responses, and manage credentials and materials tailored to opportunities, working with partners and BD teams.

You will monitor market trends, coordinate cross‑functional efforts, and support budgets, events, and client targeting. The role offers hybrid work with some after‑hours flexibility and a base salary from $160,000 to $180,000.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of business development experience in a professional services firm.
• Minimum of 2 years litigation marketing experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills and analytical research ability.
• Proven experience in writing pitches and proposals.
• Able to work independently and in cross‑functional teams.
• Strong time management and organizational skills, with problem‑solving capabilities.
• Discretion and confidentiality in handling sensitive information.
• Flexible hours including outside regular business hours as needed.

Responsibilities

• Develop pitches and RFP responses tailored to opportunities and manage credentials.
• Prepare and maintain directory and award submissions for the practice group.
• Monitor clients, competitors, and market trends for strategic insights.
• Collaborate with senior BD and practice leadership on global/local cross‑selling and client targeting.
• Support meetings, agendas, and follow‑ups; track progress of actions.
