Job summary

Jobot, a Houston-based automotive group, seeks a Permanent Automotive Controller to lead financial operations for its growing dealership portfolio.You will partner with ownership and exec leadership to drive strategy, controls, and profitability across divisions.

The role focuses on strengthening controls, streamlining processes, and delivering accurate reporting to support decision-making and growth. Strong GAAP knowledge and leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; Master’s or CPA adds value.
• Minimum 5 years in finance/accounting, ideally automotive or mortgage.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
• Experience with general ledger systems and financial controls.
• Excellent analytical skills for complex financial data and forecasts.
• Proven leadership with ability to develop and mentor staff.
• Clear communication of financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
• High integrity, urgency, and results orientation.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all financial operations within automotive division, incl. statements, budgeting, forecasting.
• Ensure accuracy of general ledger, sub-ledgers, and reports.
• Develop and implement robust financial controls and compliance processes.
• Provide strategic financial insight to senior management and identify risks/opportunities.
• Coordinate inter-departmental accounting and alignment with objectives.
• Lead month-end and year-end close with timely reporting.
• Mentor and manage a team of financial professionals.
• Coordinate with external auditors and manage audit process.
