Job summary

Element Partners in Edinburg, TX is seeking a Controller who will partner with the dealer and general manager to translate complex financial data into clear, actionable intelligence and spot trends before problems arise.

You will manage monthly statements, forecasts, cash and asset management, GL integrity, compliance, and lead a team to maintain data integrity and reporting that drives strategic decisions across the dealership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 8–10 years of automotive dealership accounting or financial management experience.
• Strong knowledge of dealership management systems (DMS).
• Ability to interpret and present complex financial data to owners and managers.
• Cash flow modeling, variance analysis, and financial forecasting proficiency.
• Up-to-date with applicable tax laws and government regulations.
• Proven ability to lead and develop an office team.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; comfortable presenting to groups.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly financial statements per manufacturer guidelines.
• Interpret DOC and surface trends to leadership; surface opportunities and risks.
• Lead short- and long-term financial forecasts with detailed reports for managers.
• Maintain cash management, forecast fund requirements, and assess asset depreciation.
• Review GL, bank accounts, payables, floor plan payables, and reserve accounts.
• Ensure payroll, income taxes, retirement plan records, and filings are compliant.
• Oversee insurance, risk management, audits, and inventory controls.
• Lead and train office staff; optimize the dealership's computer/DMS system and data reporting.
