Job summary

Del Mar College invites applications for Associate Provost for Academic Affairs. Reporting to the Provost/CAO, this role leads strategic and operational support to advance our academic mission, overseeing teaching excellence, curriculum development, faculty affairs, and institutional effectiveness.

The position collaborates with deans, faculty, staff, and external partners to promote innovation, shared governance, and data-driven improvement across programs, accreditation, and student success.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree from an accredited institution in a related field.
• Five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in higher education.
• College-level teaching experience.
• Experience in academic administration.
• Experience with curriculum, program oversight, accreditation, and assessment.
• Demonstrated leadership and supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Provost/Chief Academic Officer in developing and implementing strategic plans, academic policies, institutional priorities, and transformation initiatives.
• Represent the Provost at meetings, committees, and external events as assigned.
• Support degree programs, certificates, and workforce-aligned credentials; maintain catalogs and curriculum records.
• Collaborate to maintain assessment goals; support accreditation, program review, compliance, and continuous improvement.
• Support faculty recruitment, onboarding, credentialing, training, evaluation, promotion, tenure, and professional development.
• Oversee daily operations of Academic Affairs; coordinate scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.
• Develop training strategies with Dual Enrollment leadership and K-12 partners.
• Build partnerships with Enrollment Services, Finance, Student Affairs, and other units.
• Promote student retention, completion, transfer, and workforce success; support advising and student services.
• Develop and monitor KPIs; analyze data and prepare reports and policy recommendations.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
