Job Description Summary
Reporting to the Provost/Chief Academic Officer, the Associate Provost for Academic Affairs serves as a senior academic leader and provides strategic, operational, and administrative support to advance the College’s academic mission. The position supports excellence in teaching, learning, curriculum development, faculty affairs, institutional effectiveness, and student success. The Associate Provost leads or coordinates assigned academic initiatives, collaborates with academic deans, faculty, staff, and external partners, and promotes innovation, continuous improvement, academic freedom, shared governance, and alignment with institutional priorities.
Minimum Qualifications
- Master’s degree from an accredited institution in a related field.
- Five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in higher education.
- College level teaching experience.
- Experience in academic administration.
- Experience with curriculum, program oversight, accreditation, and assessment.
- Demonstrated leadership and supervisory experience.
Required Job Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Strong knowledge of curriculum development, assessment, accreditation, academic program review, and institutional effectiveness processes.
- Knowledge of higher education policy, governance, compliance, and regulatory requirements.
- Expertise in strategic planning, organizational leadership, change management, and continuous improvement.
- Ability to analyze complex data, develop measurable outcomes, and make informed, data-driven decisions.
- Excellent written, oral, presentation, interpersonal, collaboration, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams, supervise employees, manage projects, and balance multiple priorities.
- Ability to build effective relationships among Academic Affairs, Student Affairs, Dual Enrollment, K-12 partners, higher education institutions, and industry partners.
- Commitment to academic excellence, student-centered practices, inclusive learning environments, and student success.
Preferred Qualifications
- Doctoral or terminal degree in a relevant discipline.
- Experience with institutional research, reporting, and compliance.
- Demonstrated success in strategic planning and academic program innovation.

Job Duties
- Assist the Provost/Chief Academic Officer in developing and implementing strategic plans, academic policies, institutional priorities, and transformation initiatives.
- Represent the Provost at meetings, committees, and external events as assigned.
- Support the development, review, approval, and implementation of degree programs, certificates, and workforce-aligned credentials.
- Help ensure the accuracy and maintenance of academic catalogs, publications, and curriculum records.
- Collaborate with the Associate Vice President of Institutional Effectiveness and Academics to maintain assessment goals for the Chief Academic Officer’s Office.
- Support accreditation, program review, compliance, and continuous improvement activities.
- Support faculty recruitment, onboarding, credentialing, training, evaluation, promotion, tenure, professional development, and grievance processes.
- Promote instructional excellence, academic rigor, and innovation.
- Assist with the daily operations of Academic Affairs.
- Oversee assigned departments, projects, initiatives, and personnel; coordinate academic scheduling and operational processes.
- Support budget planning, resource allocation, and fiscal oversight.
- Work collaboratively with Dual Enrollment leadership.
- Develop and support training strategies for embedded ISD instructors and collaborate with K-12 schools, higher education institutions, and industry partners.
- Build effective partnerships with Enrollment Services, Finance, Student Affairs, Institutional Effectiveness, and other College units.
- Support articulation agreements, dual enrollment initiatives, and community-based programs.
- Promote initiatives that improve student retention, persistence, completion, transfer, and workforce success.
- Support advising systems, academic interventions, student services, and learning environments.
- Develop and monitor key performance indicators for academic programs.
- Analyze institutional data.
- Prepare reports, presentations, and policy recommendations.
- Identify opportunities for innovation, efficiency, and organizational improvement.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the Provost/Chief Academic Officer or as provided by College policy.
