Job summary

The University of Texas at Austin seeks an Associate Director, Academic Advising & Programs to provide strategic leadership for undergraduate advising, orientation, enrollment management, academic policy administration, and program support within the School of Computing on UT's main campus.

You will supervise advising staff, oversee programs for CS and Statistics & Data Science, and collaborate with faculty to support student progression and timely degree completion.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with progressively responsible experience in academic advising, student affairs, academic program administration, or higher education administration.
• Five years of progressively responsible experience in academic advising, academic program administration, enrollment management, student affairs, or higher education administration.
• Experience supervising professional staff.
• Demonstrated experience leading complex programs, projects, or initiatives.
• Strong knowledge of academic policies, student records, and degree requirements.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze data and use information to inform decision-making and program improvement.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and oversight for advising operations supporting undergraduate Computer Science and Statistics & Data Science students.
• Supervise, develop, and evaluate advising staff while establishing operational goals, service standards, and assessment practices.
• Provide leadership for orientation, onboarding, and transition initiatives in collaboration with university orientation and enrollment partners.
• Develop advising strategies, policies, and operational processes that support student success and timely degree completion.
• Serve as a resource for complex academic, enrollment, and student issues, and assist with school info sessions for prospective students when needed.
• Oversee advising services and student support initiatives for honors, interdisciplinary, integrated degree, and selective-entry programs.
