Job summary

Acento Real Estate Partners LLC is seeking an Assistant Corporate Controller in Bethesda, MD to assist the VP of Accounting with corporate accounting functions, supporting AP, payroll, treasury, and financial reporting across multiple entities.

You will drive the monthly, quarterly, and annual close, ensure GAAP compliance, and partner with Asset Management, HR, and Tax to improve controls and reporting. This role emphasizes leadership, risk identification, and process improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA or CPA candidate preferred
• 4–7+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally including exposure to AP, payroll, or treasury
• Real estate industry and multi-entity consolidation experience preferred
• Strong GAAP knowledge, Excel skills, and attention to detail; comfortable in a fast-paced, multi-entity environment

Responsibilities

• Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close for the corporate entity and consolidated financial statements, ensuring GAAP compliance
• Deliver accurate, timely reporting to executive leadership and lenders; assist with the general ledger, consolidations, budgeting, and forecasting
• Oversee accounts payable processes and controls; payroll processing; treasury and cash management tasks
• Support internal controls, audits, tax reporting, and lead AP, Payroll, and Treasury teams
