Job summary

Rework Capital is seeking an Assistant Controller to partner with the Controller and lead the accounting function across multiple entities, including intercompany activity and construction draws. The role sits in a growth‑oriented private real estate company with a centralized accounting team.

You will move the function from transaction processing to oversight, setting rules, reviewing work, and delivering analyses for executives. Real estate experience and a CPA are strongly preferred.

Qualifications

• 6–12 years of progressive accounting experience.
• 3+ years leading a monthly close and supervising a team of 5+.
• Real estate experience, especially multifamily, development or construction accounting.
• CPA strongly preferred; exam candidates welcome.

Responsibilities

• Lead the shift from transaction processing to overseeing accounting activities.
• Set coding rules, review work, and provide analysis to leadership.
• Own multi-entity close and cash forecasting, including intercompany activity.
• Build and maintain rolling cash forecasts and liquidity outlooks (13-week, 12–18 months).
• Prepare timely reports for lenders and investors; partner with operations, development and ownership.
