Job summary

CFS in Chicago, IL is seeking an Assistant Controller to partner with executive leadership and shape a best-in-class finance function. This high-visibility role combines strategic finance with hands-on accounting oversight, including cash management and close processes.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in Accounting or Finance, 10+ years of progressive accounting experience with leadership, manufacturing industry background, and hands-on Great Plains expertise.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA strongly preferred.
• 10+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience with leadership responsibility.
• Manufacturing or industrial industry experience required.
• Great Plains experience with ERP systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead accounting, financial reporting, and cash management.
• Own month-end and year-end close processes with accuracy and efficiency.
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
• Partner with leadership to drive strategy and performance improvements.
• Manage Great Plains ERP systems and optimize workflows.
• Oversee audits, compliance, and internal controls.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
