Job summary

BDO USA, LLP is seeking a CTS Manager - ASC740 to advise clients on tax implications of business objectives and to lead complex corporate tax matters. You will evaluate alternatives to minimize tax and compliance costs, serve as the primary client contact for ASC 740 issues, and guide teams through tax provisions and related processes.

The role requires deep knowledge of ASC 740, strong communication, leadership, and the ability to manage multi-faceted engagements with multinational clients.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Taxation is required.
• Master's degree in Accounting or Taxation is preferred.
• Five (5) or more years of prior experience, required.
• Experience in managing the process of preparing and auditing ASC740 computations for both privately held and/or publicly traded clients, required.
• Supervisory experience, required.
• Multinational client experience, preferred.
• CPA certification, Attorney (admitted to practice in a U.S. jurisdiction), or Internal Revenue Service Enrolled Agent (EA) (or the equivalent of one of these designations), required.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook), and Adobe Acrobat, required.
• Experience with tax research databases such as BNA and RIA; Proficient in tax workpapers and related software (GoFileRoom, GoSystemRS, Caseware), preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide tax advisory on ASC 740 and related corporate tax issues.
• Review and resolve tax issues with clients; coordinate with specialists.
• Plan budgeting, staffing, and engagement management including time and billing.
• Manage client relationships and ensure timely communication and deliverables.
• Research and frame ASC 740 issues; train staff on research methods.
• Develop, propose, and implement efficient tax processes and strategies.
• Supervise Associates and Senior Associates; provide performance feedback.
