Job summary

McKinsey & Company in the United States seeks a technically adept professional to join our client service team. You will own a workstream, solve challenging problems, and deliver actionable strategies that drive real impact for Fortune 500 clients and innovative startups alike.

You will collaborate with colleagues across McKinsey to uncover underlying issues, develop data-driven insights, and guide transformation initiatives.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in computer science/engineering, data science or another engineering/technical field.
• Up to 3 years of work experience.
• Ability to create work product-focused materials/outputs, including PowerPoint decks and Excel models.
• Ability to work or attend meetings outside of traditional business hours or on short notice.
• Excellent organizational capabilities, including initiating tasks independently.
• Proficient in rational decision making based on data, facts, and logical reasoning.
• Exceptional time management to meet responsibilities in a complex, largely autonomous work environment.
• Ability to travel to and work in varying environments that may be challenging (factories, hospitals, mines).
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, in English and the local office language(s).

Responsibilities

• You will join a client service team and take ownership of a workstream to solve some of the toughest challenges our clients face.
• Collaborate with clients and McKinsey colleagues to generate fresh insights and breakthrough solutions.
• Help clients deliver breakthrough products, experiences, and business transformations by equipping them with tools and knowledge to continue innovating after we leave.
• Work with researchers, interviews, and brainstorming to uncover the true challenges behind a client's strategy.
