Job summary

The City of Mission Viejo is seeking an Administrative Services Analyst or Senior Administrative Services Analyst to support budgeting, purchasing, contract administration, risk management, and grant compliance. The role requires strong analytical skills and cross-department collaboration.

You will analyze financial data, develop reports for executive decision-making, and help optimize processes while serving as a subject-matter expert to city departments.

Qualifications

• Equivalent to graduation from a four-year college with relevant major.
• Two years of budgeting, purchasing, risk management and analytical experience.
• Experience using Tyler ERP software and public agency work is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Administer core Administrative Services programs including budgeting, centralized purchasing, contract administration, risk management, and grant compliance.
• Research & analysis: conduct thorough research, prepare comprehensive financial analyses, ensure compliance, and produce detailed reports for executive decision-making.
• Process optimization: analyze departmental practices to recommend organizational, procedural, and policy improvements.
• Strategic departmental support: provide complex assistance and guidance to City departments regarding procurement, risk, and fiscal policies.
• Management support: deliver administrative and analytical backup to Administrative Services management staff.
• As a Senior Analyst: perform the most complex assignments and mentor staff.
