Job summary

Northbound Executive Search is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist for a prominent Financial Services firm in New York. You will oversee the AP process, validate invoices, and maintain GP-based workflows.

Responsibilities include approvals, vendor payment processing via ACH, check, and wire, and ensuring invoices match contracts and controls. The role requires 2–5+ years of AP experience and a good eye for accuracy.

Qualifications

• 2–5+ years of Accounts Payable experience within financial services.
• Experience with Microsoft Great Plains accounting software.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
• Strong understanding of accounts payable processes and controls.
• Experience with AP systems and ERP platforms.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and execute the Accounts Payable process.
• Maintain and improve the functionality of the AP system.
• Oversee the company’s AP mail and email inboxes and ensure all invoices are processed in the AP system.
• Review invoices against service contracts to ensure accuracy.
• Obtain and collect all necessary internal approvals for invoices.
• Facilitate payments to vendors via ACH, check, and wire through the company’s bank platform.
