Job summary

North Carolina Sound is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to lead the day-to-day accounting for a single operating company. You will own the monthly close, revenue recognition, and project costing, while supporting the 13-week cash flow forecast and financial reporting.

The role requires 5–8 years of hands-on accounting, GAAP fluency, and experience with multiple ERP tools. Excellent Excel skills and the ability to manage a small team are key.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years of progressive accounting experience with hands-on monthly close.
• Strong GAAP knowledge, including reconciliations, accruals and financial reporting.
• Experience closing and reporting across multiple entities, branches, or subsidiaries.
• Comfort with accounting systems (QuickBooks, Sage Intacct, ServiceTitan) and ability to learn new ones.
• Strong Excel and data-modeling skills; ability to bring structure to ambiguity.

Responsibilities

• Close & reporting: run the monthly close, deliver fast and accurate flash.
• Project accounting: manage revenue recognition and job costing for projects.
• Reporting & forecasting: prepare the financial package and a 13-week cash flow forecast.
• Maintain and improve controls, budgets, KPIs, and regulatory compliance.
• Work in the operating company's ERP and support system implementations with the regional finance team.
• Lead and develop accounting staff; oversee payroll, AR, and AP where a team exists.
