Job summary

North Carolina Sound is seeking an Accounting Manager to own the month-end close, reporting, and controls for a single operating company. This hands-on role partners with the regional finance team and focuses on revenue recognition, job costing, and cash discipline in a project-based environment.

You will lead a small team, ensure accurate payroll, AR and AP, and support the annual audit while driving improvements to ERP processes and KPI reporting across our North Carolina footprint.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years accounting experience with hands-on monthly close.
• GAAP knowledge with strong reconciliations and financial reporting.
• Experience closing and reporting across multiple entities.
• Proficiency in Excel and data modeling; ability to bring structure to ambiguity.
• Experience with QuickBooks, Sage Intacct and ServiceTitan; willingness to learn new systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead monthly close and reporting; improve speed and accuracy of the process.
• Manage revenue recognition and job costing for projects.
• Oversee inventory management and cycle counts where applicable.
• Prepare the financial package and 13-week cash flow forecast.
• Maintain controls, budgets, KPIs, and regulatory compliance.
• Support ERP implementations and integrations with the regional finance team.
• Develop accounting staff and ensure payroll, AR, and AP accuracy.
