Job summary

J&M Products, Inc. seeks a Controller to oversee all accounting operations in a manufacturing environment. You will ensure GAAP-compliant financial reporting, manage the close, and lead internal controls and audits.

The role partners with Operations, Supply Chain, Engineering, and Program Management to optimize costing, budgeting and forecasting, while mentoring the accounting team and ensuring accurate inventory valuation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• 3–5 years accounting experience including manufacturing and cost accounting.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP.
• Experience with inventory, WIP, standard costing and variances.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Aerospace or defense industry experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all accounting operations and close processes.
• Manage general ledger and ensure accuracy.
• Oversee payroll.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable with proper documentation.
• Review journal entries and reconciliations.
• Ensure inventory valuation and cost accounting accuracy.
• Maintain cost accounting systems for manufacturing and overhead.
• Prepare monthly financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow).
• Lead internal controls and audits.
• Coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors.
• Develop policies and procedures in line with US GAAP.
• Identify financial risks and opportunities.
• Mentor accounting team and partner cross-functionally.
• Support budgeting/forecasting; assist with system implementations.
