Job summary

Novo Building Products, based in Zeeland, Michigan, seeks an Accounting Manager to oversee fixed assets, travel and expense programs, corporate card and vehicle programs, and lease accounting. You will support month-end and year-end closes, strengthen internal controls, and guide the accounting team.

Collaborating with the Controller and cross-functional teams, you will drive process improvements and ensure accurate financial reporting while mentoring staff in a fast-paced manufacturing

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 6–7 years of accounting experience.
• Strong proficiency with automated accounting systems, ERP platforms, general ledger applications, and advanced spreadsheet tools.
• Solid GAAP/IFRS knowledge.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365, including Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, and SharePoint.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and reconcile fixed asset schedules and reports, ensuring compliance with company accounting policies.
• Manage and administer the company's travel and expense program, including the corporate card program.
• Oversee accounting-related responsibilities associated with the leased corporate vehicle program.
• Support the Lease Administrator with tracking, monitoring, and accounting for company leases.
• Reconcile assigned general ledger accounts monthly to ensure accurate financial reporting and ledger maintenance.
• Support month-end and year-end closing activities in collaboration with the general ledger team and Financial Reporting Manager.
• Prepare documentation and supporting schedules for internal and external auditors as requested.
• Develop, document, and improve accounting processes and policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
• Partner closely with the Controller on complex operational and accounting matters to ensure alignment with financial reporting and control standards.
• Build effective relationships with cross-functional teams and provide accounting guidance as needed.
• Provide leadership, coaching, and oversight to assigned team members and accounting processes.
