Job summary

National Manufacturing Group is seeking an Accounting Manager to lead day-to-day accounting operations on-site in Clarkston, MI. The role will manage A/P, A/R, invoicing, and cash collections across multiple plants and ERP systems.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years in a senior accounting role and 3–5 years in accounting, with strong Excel skills and Sage ERP experience considered a plus. A Bachelor's degree in Accounting is preferred.

Job description

The Accounting Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Clarkston, MI. This role oversees day-to-day accounting operations.

Responsibilities of the Accounting Manager will include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Oversee daily activities and staff across accounts payable (A/P), accounts receivable (A/R), invoicing, and cash collections for multiple plants on multiple ERP systems.
• Provide immediate support, prioritization, and problem-solving guidance to accounting staff.
• Create and maintain financial reports, records, and general ledger accounts.
• Prepare required journal entries, analyses, and account reconciliations to complete month-end and year-end close processes.
• Review financial statements for accuracy and legal compliance.
• Perform monthly bank statements reconciliations.
• Complete financial analysis tasks as required.Post monthly, quarterly, and yearly accruals.
• Respond to information requests and assist with internal/external audits.
• Maintain confidentiality of organizational information.
• Coordinate with sales, operations, and procurement teams to resolve billing disputes, missing documentation, or receipt tracking anomalies.
• Review AR/AP agings, try to resolve issues and those which cannot be resolved raise to management

Experience

• At least 2 years in a Senior accounting role and at least 3-5 years in accounting
• Working in Sage ERP a plus
• Must have a high proficiency in Excel
• Bachelors in Accounting a plus
