Cavender’s, a growing retail organization, seeks a Director of Accounting & Controls to safeguard the company’s financial integrity and internal control framework. You will lead the corporate accounting team, drive GAAP compliance, and partner with IT to enhance ERP controls.

The role requires 9+ years in accounting with leadership, deep COSO knowledge, and experience with ICFR/SOX. Based in Tyler, TX, or on a hybrid schedule from the DFW area, you’ll mentor staff and guide cross-functional

Competenze

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA strongly preferred.
9+ years of progressive accounting experience, with leadership or controls focus.
Deep understanding of US GAAP and internal control frameworks (COSO).
Experience leading audits and managing ICFR or SOX compliance.

Mansioni

Oversee accounting operations, general ledger, reconciliations, and close processes.
Develop, maintain, and enforce robust internal controls and ICFR.
Lead the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close with GAAP compliance.
Collaborate with IT on ERP security, access controls, and automated controls.
Coach and develop accounting staff; drive process improvements.
Serve as primary contact for internal and external audits.
