Job summary

Resources Global Professionals (RGP) is seeking an experienced Accounting Controller to lead our accounting operations in Cleveland, OH. This hands-on role requires strong technical accounting knowledge, team leadership, and the ability to drive operational excellence in a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate will oversee month-end close, financial reporting, internal controls, and regulatory compliance while partnering with leadership to support business objectives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• CPA designation strongly preferred.
• 8+ years of progressive accounting experience with leadership.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and internal controls.
• Experience with month-end close, audits and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Lead all aspects of the accounting function including GL, AP, AR, fixed assets, payroll accounting, and financial reporting.
• Direct monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes for timely results.
• Prepare and review financial statements per U.S. GAAP and company policies.
• Develop and maintain internal controls and procedures.
• Oversee reconciliations, journal entries, and variance analyses.
• Partner with Finance leadership on budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, and strategic planning.
• Coordinate external audits, tax filings, and regulatory compliance.
• Provide guidance on complex transactions and new initiatives.
• Improve accounting processes and ERP-related improvements.
• Mentor and lead a high-performing accounting team.
